 Seemingly the most prominent figure in African American history, Martin Luther King Jr., gave a speech. In the 1960's. Seemingly the most prominent figure, in the fact that he's pretty much the only figure anyone ever brings up. We listened to the "I Have a Dream Speech" and annotated bits of it. Circling and underlining devices and appeals. Some used highlighters, others pencils. Repetition was a reoccurring theme. One of the first devices was allusion-- allusion to Abraham Lincoln.
